These are all New Towns, although Glenrothes was established under different legislation from the other three. See my earlier answer for a fuller explaination.

EDIT : In a response to another responder, our village no longer has a pub (it closed in 2007) and the Post Office has it in for rural areas - our closed ten years ago.
