Frankly, I don't believe it. If it's released, then it's released...somewhere. So my real question, is Where?

My bank said it will not arrive there for about a month after the US mint releases it into distribution. I thought the banks were the delivery point for distribution! Is my teller on crack?

  1. The teller is right but may not know why. The day the state quarter is released is the official day they usually have a ceremony in that state and the quarters are available there for they are brought there by the mint officials. The rest of the quarters are sent to the 12 Federal Reserve banks who then fill orders for the smaller banks in their district. This takes time and that can be 30 days or more from the official release date. You either wait like the rest of us or you can pay extra and order them from the mint but it may take some time that way also. Remember the mint is in business to first make sure all banks have enough coinage to do business, then they try to get the items like state quarter and proof sets out.

  2. Whether or not your teller is on crack is irrellevant. Most clerks are crack-heads.

If you can't find the coin on eBay, then it's not available yet.

  3. some banks aren't  fooling with them.  Two banks I checked with said they are not getting any.  Who wants to walk around with a pocket full of quarters dragging you down?  I do!  I have all except for Arizona...........
