The US economy! Who is the best candidate (or which party) to bring improvement and progress in 2009?

Only answer on this issue please as it follows on from an earlier question where most replied that the major issue was this in respect of all issues in the upcoming election.

  1. Unfortunately, hardly anyone seems to be aware that Congress and the House set fiscal policy, not the President.  Given the partisan atmosphere lately, I don't think improvement is close, no matter who sits in the Oval Office.


  2. Neither party has the answers and if Obama really thinks he can change Washington politics, he is deluding himself, especially with Joe Biden as his running mate.  The only thing that will change the economic situation in the US is to elect some new people.

  3. The Libertarian party is the only one likely to improve things.  Problem is there is no chance of them getting elected and the current candidate is a dud.

    Obama's lack of understanding of economics is frightening, couple that to his ability to sway large numbers of people and I give him a slight edge for the ability to cause a lot of damage.

    McCain I think will be a little less destructive, but not much.

  4. Obama. It will be better than McCain pissing oil importers (mostly Arab) off and killing us with even higher oil prices.
