I do believe they should. In fact, I believe Washington D.C. should give free access to medical services and college education to all the native american that survived the extermination provocated by the white man. How do we criticize dictators like Hitler, Mussolini or Saddam, and at same time forgive the unjustice here in America?

The land of freedom my ***.

  1. Those dictators didn't give them tax free reservations in which they can shape their own futures. The history of how we obtained the land is unfortunate, but to compare us to dictators is unfair also. If you want you can give all the money you make to whom ever you feel deserves it.

The now generation feels empathy for what happened to the native american, but we don't feel personally responsible. How many american people do you know are able to open a tax-free casino...

  2. think of it this way...America was their country...we went to war....we won....we still let them keep some land...even though it sucks for them, we weren't all THAT bad for taking their land....

  3. Hicimos.  The tribes are wealthy and putting Native Americans through college.  Mal informado.

No, I won't.  F-off back to your own country.

  4. How selfish is it of Native Americans to think that they own this land simply because they happened to be on this side of the split when the land masses separated.  God created everyone equal and I am sure wouldn't mind everyone sharing the land.  Or should we have sucked it up and crammed 5.8 billion people into the other Continents and let the handfull of Native Americans have all this land to themselves.  We came over peacefully, initially, and when the indians decided that we could only have an acre or two of "their land" and that we were intruding too far, they became violent.  If you are not a religious person, they started a war over selfish reasons.  AND LOST!!!!!!!

  5. That stuff happened GENERATIONS ago.  You're right, I'm sorry MY great-great-grandfathers stole land from YOUR great-great-grandfathers, but that doesn't mean I owe YOU ****.

We are not socialist.  Native Americans need to get their own health care and college education just like EVERYBODY else.

  6. I just wanted to mention something. Didn't Bill Clinton make a formal apology while he was in office? I think I remember something about that. And there are health care programs and education programs out there for Natives. Most of them seem pretty S****y to me though. Everyone thinks we have it made with all our casinos... that's bull, maybe a few tribes do. But hey there are over 500 tribes in the U.S. and Canada and very FEW actually have casinos where they make money off of. My tribe doesn't. And most Natives I know are on the poorer side.

    Have a good day!

  7. US government invaded the lands possessed by the natives and they deserved to be dignified.

  8. I am native, and if the U.S. government apologized now, it would just be empty words. Words mean nothing to me, or my tribe. We don't need freebies from the government, we need to get up and make something of ourselves.

Maybe then we can prove wrong the stereotypes of Indians being lazy drunks. I am a strong American Indian woman, and I don't need apologies or handouts from the U.S. government to make my way in this old world.

"If the white man wants to live in peace with the Indian, he can live in peace.....Treat all men alike. Give them all the same law. Give them all an even chance to live and grow. All men were made by the same Great Spirit Chief. They are all brothers. The Earth is the mother of all people, and all people should have equal rights upon it."

--Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce

I don't need any more or any less than that of a white person to survive. I don't need free access to medical services, or free education. I need only my two hands and my strong will.
