  1. RUSSIA is a PROVOCATIVE, RUTHLESS, AGGRESSOR !!!

It started with Ossetian Provocations on the de facto borders. However, After little shootouts Georgia declared unilateral cease fire. It lasted several hours but Ossetian separatists - or let me say the ones that did not wish to stop - continued shooting and taking "lives of Georgian villagers".

Georgia was alarmed and decided to "restore constitutional order" in the region or maybe they meant over the ones that did not stop shooting. Anyhow, that is what Russians waited for so long and decided to "make them pay" (Vladimir Putin) for what they did. (what they did on their OWN sovereign territory.)

It was easy for them to mobilize troops because they have been stationed near the borders for WEEKS.http://mnweekly.ru/news/20080718/5533837...

prompting Georgia to think it was a well pre planned provocation. and that is what I think. Russia does not want Georgia to enter NATO. Russia does not want stable Georgia. I am sure they will find something with Ukraine too. Things like pro Russian region Crimea in Ukraine and so on and so forth to mount tensions and Black mail them. Very aggressive. War criminals !

Days of sleepless nights and hundreds of Reliable news sources.

P.S. NEVER LISTEN TO RUSSIAN SOURCE ; such as russiatoday.ru and etc. Propaganda machine.

  2. No. this would not be politically prudent

BUT the US had a COALITION of many countries and it was not just the US..so if there is a COALITION then the US will probably be a big part of this offense to push Russia out of Georgia

Russia is very weak right now so this would be the time to deliver a strike

  3. Whats the reason for our troops NOT entering Georgia? Simple.

Russia has nukes, and Russia knows we have nukes. To engage in a war with Russia would bring about a nuclear holocaust. Is that what you want? Perhaps you arent so educated on global affairs, but last I checked, Iraq was no serious threat to the US, and Russia has the weaponry to blow Washington DC off the map should they choose to.

Nuclear weapons are currently the best form of deterrance, and neither will seriously p**s off the other enough to launch one, at least so far.

We had around 60 years of a nuclear standoff called a 'Cold War' if you dont remember.

  4. This fighting is stupid.  Georgia cannot take on Russia.  Russia (and the US, and Britain) COULD use diplomacy and try to negotiate a settlement in most of these disputes.  One day, we will blow ourselves up.

  5. iraq attacked kuwait

    georgia attacked russia

france and canada are US allies that sent military help into afghanistan after we were attacked, but they didn't send help when we attacked iraq.

  6. the US only picks on weak countries. Like Iraq with no airforce no navy and a weak army. Same with Afghanistan. But Iran and North Korea and Russia all have REAL militarys, so no action will be taken against them

  7. I think you have your storyline mixed up...

Russia did today what USA did in 1991.

South Ossetia is an autonomous region that fought a war against Georgia.  South Ossetia won.  And, the peace agreement stated that Georgia has no authority over the region.  So, in 2008 Georgia acted like Iraq. And, Russia removed them, like the USA in 1991.

  8. It is a matter of law. We as a part of the united Nations are required to assist members when the UN declares it to be a matter of security for a nation. This happened in kuwait. It hasn't been declareds yet for the republic of Georgia. It may be later and we will step in, but remember, we are on friendly terms with both nations, so who do we offend? Negotiations are already underway. That is a better resolution than war.

  9. I agree with daredevil and its true, when the U.S meets up with a foe who can fight back like Russia and China they want to talk

  10. Hope not six years ago a man from Kuwait walked up and ask me ''are you an American?'' Yes ''Thank you '' last year in this same bar/pub two man from Kuwait and i were talking they were being disrespectful to my country I reminded them of what we did in 91 ''we paid you for it'' s***w them all of them America only to h**l with the rest

  11. It seems we are getting real close to just closing our borders and telling the whole world "BRING IT!!!"

Edit- hmmm, two thumbs down? It was an observation not a suggestion

  12. No...because it is, at least for now, more prudent that our NATO allies in Europe act before we do.  As long as Georgia is calling for a cease-fire, you can call Russia the aggressor as long as it continues its campaign.

Also, Russia, if they are smart (and I think they are) is not going to want to stay there too long...winter is coming.

  13. georgia attacked russia.

thats the stupidest thing i could ever hear.

The least advantage that Russians have is aircraft thats all.

  14. It would be foolish to get into a shooting war with Russia over Georgia. Even the fools now running the US government are smart enough to see that. At least, one hopes so.

    Cheers

  15. No.  It's easy to bully around weak countries like Serbia and Iraq, but dealing with Russia is another story.

  16. Q. Is Russia strong enough to fight back?

    A. Yes

So the USA won't get involved.

Bullys don't go into fights they don't think they can win.

Georgia's not exactly up there with Iraq as an oil producing nation, so that's another reason uncle sam'll sit on his lardy ****.

  17. Russia and Georgia are under the same former Soviet family so is an internal affair for Putin and Med. Also, noone can push Russia out of anything as it still has the most powerful fleet of nukes the world has ever known and Putin is the toughest CEO on the planet. And America must use her resources to deal with other issues like Iraq and Afgh and all the islamic radicals .. Russia is an ally in the war on terror and we have to support our allies.

  18. Iraq-small, weak, was easily defeated.

    Russia-big, powerful, has nukes.

  19. Georgia attacked 1st.  We aren't going to go help them.  They got themselves into it and they can get themselves out of it.

Iraq wasn't a weak country.  They aren't Russia or China but they aren't weak.  They had a huge well trained army.
