There is nothing better than a deliciously moist, savoury hot quiche in my opinion served with a fresh side salad. Does anyone have the ultimate recipe to share with me, pleeease :)

  1. 4 beaten eggs

    1/2 sour cream

    salt pepper

    Mix together

Squeeze 10-16 oz thawed frozen spinach dry, put in bottom of pie crust, top with shredded cheddar, and sauteed mushrooms and onions.  Pour egg mixture over, bake at 350 for 45-50 min until top is nice and golden brown.  Easy to double or quadruple, can be frozen after baking.

  2. My two favorites are mushroom quiche and asparagus quiche. The latter makes an especially attractive presentation if you arrange whole spears in a sunburst pattern on the top.

One of my colleagues at Suite101 wrote up some good guidelines and variations for Quiche Basics.

  3. i made a chicken and stilton one............. yummy xx

  4. Everyone will give a different answer. I start with a pastry and bake it blind, or at least partly, before putting the filling in. It is basically a savoury custard of eggs and cream. I would normally put bacon in it.

  5. Use wholemeal flour for the pastry, then add sliced peppers, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and bacon to the cheese topping..

  6. Pound of Bacon

    pound of minced onions

    12 oz Mushrooms

    12 oz Frozen chopped spinach

    8 oz Swiss cheese shredded

Cut the bacon into 1" pieces and cook thoroughly until crispy.  Cook onions and mushrooms.

Rinse spinach in a seive and squeeze out moisture.

Mix all cooker ingredients in a large bowl and add in six eggs and cheese

Divide between two pie shells and bake for about 1/2 hour at 350F

This is a very dense savory pie.  You can add six more eggs and some cream to make it into a lighter more eggy quiche for three pies.

  7. this is for cheesy bacon quiche (quiche lorraine)

make pasty (just basic shortcrust) and line your dish with it

fry off some bacon and leave to cool for 5

grate some cheese (like cheddar, red leicester etc)

Mix approximately 3 or 4 eggs and a bit of milk, add some salt and pepper and give a good mix

add cheese and bacon to it and pour it in your pastry lined dish, add extra cheese on top to give it a cheesy crust and bake in oven on 180ish for approximately 45minutes

This is a just a classic quiche (but my favourite) and you could add anything you want
