  1. The UN was involved in so called peace keeping and monitoring missions in the Middle East since the 1950-s. As an example the UN forces monitored the cease fire between Israel and Egypt in 1967. However on demand from the Egyptian dictator Nasser the UN Secretary General U Thant withdraw the UN forces and opened up Israel's borders for Nasser's troops. As a response, Israel started the defencive operations, called the Six Day War. Later the UN was involved in monitoring missions on the Golan Heights and the Israel - Lebanon border. The UN troops were coward and inefficient and done nothing to stop the Hezbollah build up and attacks on Israel. In front of the UN observers Hezbollah terrorists kidnapped Israelis from Israeli territory. The UN became a Useless Nothing in the Middle East during Corrupt Kofi's time. (Kofi Annan) There are no advantages of UN troops in the Middle East. It would be best if Israel could sweep clean the Middle East from the terrorists.

  2. their only involvment is/or was in Lebanon as a security force...if Israel was ever full out attacked the U.N. would haul *** and slaughter the invader.

  3. The UN's current involvement in the Middle East is whatever the U.S. allows it to be.
