The United States hasn't had a good President since Ronald Reagan. True or False? Why or why not?

Defend your position. I am especially interested in hearing the arguments of those of you who would say that Bill Clinton was a good President. Let's all be polite now!

i agree with xboxlive..Bill Clinton was a good president, we had almost a grace period with him until Bush came along. He did allow us to have a great economy for the time and also was a good people person which allowed us to have great international relations.

I could care less what personifies a great President.

What I do care about is how my life is affected by whoever is the President.

I can say without a doubt the best time for me was while Bill Clinton was President.  I had the most money to spend, jobs were plentiful, pay was good, etc.

That's including the past 35 years!

reagan had some good ideas,too bad they did not work. he turned the U.S economy into the worst debtor nation from the best creditor nation,he was weak on terrorism from the start. i have been through the carter,reagan,bush sr,clinton,bush jr administrations and i have to admit,i was most prosperous with clinton. if you remeber your history,reagan started out as a democrat.

when i said reagan was weak on terrorism,this is why.

1982-91: Americans are kidnapped and held by terrorists in Lebanon--more than half-a dozen for years. Three captives were brutally executed by their captors.

How tough on terrorism were Republican presidents during those years.

i am not bashing reagan. i actually agreed with the laffer curve of economic theory and know if we used it today it might actually work.

False- Reagan also lied to the American public. He promised that if we gave the then 2 million illegal aliens amnesty he would secure the borders. Well 2 million illegals received amnesty but the borders were never secured. We have 12 million illegals here. Thats why I love the irony when McCain says he wants to be just like Reagan

We should be thankful for those presidents who were assasinated because what they did for that to happen to them was nothing but Good things to Help people and obviously people hated what they did and Bam they got assasinated. Ronald Reagan was a president that history will judge and that will be when the Iran Contra info is released. His trickle down economics were good but for the rich but nit for the middle class. I think we all recognize the right of business to make a profit but not on the backs of the middle class. We are now seeing the results of his economic policies right now.

Bill Clinton was a good president...but STUPID. He fell into every trap those who hated him set. The nation could have grown under him in many ways but his ego got the better of him. I admire him, and I know that many will question my wisdom, but I do think he saw the middle class plight and wanted to help...but with his actions and the  Congress against him he really put the nation at risk. But no where near the risk we find ourselves at this point.

I don't feel either Reagan or Clinton were very good, both continued the same policy of corporate domination of our government, but no one raise a concern as it had yet to be so obvious it had not yet begun to sting as much as it does today. Ike was at least honest with Americans, as was Carter we may not have wanted to hear it and many resented the telling.....but at least we were told honestly. the rest have been empty suits, hair oil and comforting myths.

I think you need to justify your belief that Ronnie Reagan was a good president first.  After what he and Ollie North did I would not place any pride in his administration.
