  1. And widsom doesn't necessarily come with age....

  2. No, it has been more religious in the past. Very religious when we broke away from England. Study your history!

  3. From the founding of our country until about 50 years ago, the USA was an unashamedly Christian country. All of our institutions and laws were based on the Bible. We, of course, were tollerent of people who had different religions.

Everyone knew that the clause in the Constitution that says, "congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion", meant that the government was not allowed to create a "state church".

No one had any thought about "separation of church and state". There is nothing in the Constitution that says that. Religious freedom is that anyone can worship God as he pleases or not worship Him at all.

I will be 65 y/o in 2 weeks. I have seen my country slide from being a religious country to a more and more atheist one. There are many rich and powerful people in our country and in the world, that have worked hard to take religion and God out of our country.

Christian church leaders who saw this happening decided to not fight this because they believed that Christians should not get involved in politics and they never thought that things would get this bad.

About 20 years ago some Christian leaders saw that things had gotten worse than they ever thought it could and started to fight the people who want this to be an atheist country.

That is what you are seeing in the election campaign now. Christian leaders and lay people are trying to reclaim what we have lost and what the country has lost, it's morals. Generally speaking, the Democrats want this to be an atheist country (although they deny that) and a part of the Republican Party wants this country to return to be a moral, religious country.

The Democrats say they want to foster unity and nonpartinship but they don't mean that, they want to win this fight with the Christians. Of course there are more differences in the Democrat Party and the Republican Party than religion.

Don't hope for unity as neither side will give up. The stakes are too important.

Thanks for asking this important question.
