The Unsolved Theory "Six degrees of seperation" ! waht does it means ?

I am not talking about any movie made on this but i want to know on the concept

The concept, basically, is a theory that any 2 people in the world know each other vis-a-vis no more than 6 other people.

For example, let's say you're related to, I don't know, Edward Norton (actor). And, let's say that I'm related to..........Paul Giamatti. Now, since they were in the movie "The Illusionist" we could claim to know one another.

I only use actors due to my friends and mine obsession with the game "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon."

It means to you are connected to anyone through at least 6 people. Example: Your friend(Bob) has a cousin Lisa, Lisa's boyfriend is Tom, Tom has a friend Rick, that works on Movie sets, Rick is dating Jessica Alba.

You are connected to Jessica Alba through 6 degrees of seperation.

You - 1

Bob - 2

Lisa - 3

Tom - 4

Rick - 5

Alba - 6

As I understand it, no matter who you meet on earth, you can trace them to either yourself (or someone close to you through) just five additional people are contacts, hence the person you've just met is only removed from yourself by five people. This represents the brotherhood of man.

Six degrees of separation refers to the idea that, if a person is one step away from each person they know and two steps away from each person who is known by one of the people they know, then everyone is an average of six "steps" away from each person on Earth

it means that on average if you meet somone you will probably know somone who knows somone who knows

somone who knows somone who knows somone who knows them. ( of course ignoring the fact you just met them so you know them)

It doesnt work really because im sure there are people in Africa that it wouldnt work for for me.

However technically you and anyone who answers this question should be able to find a link through 6 people
