The Viper, Randy Orton wins 41-man Battle Royal for Number One contender spot – WWE News
The former World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton captured an amazing victory Friday Night SmackDown segment on October 14 as he won a 41-Man Number One Contender Battle Royal.
The SmackDown segment began with the General Manager, Theodore Long heading towards the ring. The Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and the Interim Raw General Manager, John Laurinaitis also came out and joined the SmackDown GM. John announced
a biggest match of the history for tonight’s SmackDown segment and it was the Battle Royal Match. The EVP of Talent Relation also told the WWE Universe that the winner of the match will get a shot at a title match.
The 41 contestants for the match were The former WWE Champion, The Miz, CM Punk, Christian, R-Truth, Sheamus,
Cody Rhodes, Johnny Curtis, JTG, Ted DiBiase,
Tyson Kidd, Daniel Bryan, Tyler Reks,
Curt Hawkins, Drew McIntrye, Justin Gabriel,
Michael McGillicutty, Derrick Bateman,
Yoshi Tatsu, Titus O’Neil, Matt Striker,
William Regal, Percy Watson, John Morrison,
Dolph Ziggler, Trent Baretta, Jey Uso,
Mason Ryan, Primo Colon, Santino Marella,
Alex Riley, Kofi Kingston, Zack Ryder, David Otunga,
Jimmy Uso, Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, Sin Cara,
Wade Barrett, Jack Swagger, Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton.
When the Battle Royal started, the Viper eliminated the Intercontinental Champion, Cody Rhodes on the spot while Johnny was next. JTG was eliminated by Wade and Kofi dropped McGillicutty. The Celtic Warrior, Sheamus eliminated most of the superstars including
Otunga, the Usos, Jackson, Rack, Staler and the evil Sin Cara. CM Punk eliminated Truth while the Miz eliminated Punk. The Viper RKO’ed Swagger and threw him out. Christian was already eliminated by Sheamus but he came inside and caused the elimination of
the Celtic Warrior.
At the end of the contest, there was only the Miz and the Viper in the ring. Miz tried to hit Skull-Crushing Finale but the Viper escaped and they ended up on the apron. The Viper got the momentum and RKO’ed the Miz. They both fell onto the floor and the
replay resulted in favour of the Viper. Later on, the Apex Predator chose the World Heavyweight Champion, Mark Henry for the title shot.
