  1. i am not certain what you just said...but

If you want to go to college, don't let anyone stop you.

  2. If you've gotten a 70% rating then why don't you use the money that you're receiving sitting on your butt and go???  Why does everyone expect a handout instead of earning it on their own?  If you think you can go, then get your butt in gear and do something about it!  Put that disability money to good use.

I am willing to bet that the counselor doesn't think you're smart enough to handle school or didnt have your GED, maybe even did an aptitude test to check.  Also, i'm sure you complained that you aren't able to carry books to class, sit in class for over an hour, and are too drugged up on pain meds to do anything anyway.

  3. If you think you should go to college, go to a college and talk to them.  I agree that most people who are disabled need college in order to compete.  You probably qualify for financial aid.  If you have a good, solid plan it's much easier for the Voc Rehab counselor to help you get the college you are seeking.  There are many colleges that offer a diploma in four years as long as you are in one of the programs its supports.  This is especially helpful because it limits the amount of time you will spend in college (as opposed to my 5 year bachelor's degree--ugh).

Do some of your own legwork on this.  Talk to colleges, Easter Seals, and other programs.  Your prospective college will probably have their own Student Disability Support Services office which may have even more resources for you.

    Good luck!

  4. i went to Voc Rehab, was interested in several fields of construction that i was familiar with, materials estimator, surveying, and other non-physical requirements, they rated me as 100% Disabled and told the court that i had diligently tried to pursue all other forms of employment and education, but at this time we feel he is not able to proceed with Vocational Rehabilitation~!

edit: Ya, I am a Disabled Veteran myself, and i went through all the intensive supervised physical therapy and counseling, they dont just give you a disability check just cause you ask for it, i also take meds for PTSD~!!

potatohead is an idiot and would get slapped down if he talked his c**p to a Disabled Vets face~!!!

so i had to check into on-line courses that you can qualify for a degree on-line~!

there are several qualified schools on line~!
