The WWE Champion, John Cena reigns supreme over the Power 25 list: WWE News
After the 'I Quit Match' victory at 'Over the Limit', The WWE Champion, John Cena, is enjoying the top position in the Power 25 list of the WWE. The Academy of Wrestling Arts and Science placed The WWE Champion on the first place, in this week’s ranking.
The AWAS prepared the rankings list for this week, according to the three events including Over the Limit, Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown. The WWE Champion, Cena was set to fight the Number One contender for WWE Championship, The Miz at 'Over
the Limit' on May 22. Miz tried his best to make Cena quit at 'Over the Limit'. He also teamed-up with Alex Riley to beat Cena, but could not defeat the WWE Champion. Cena made The Miz quit with just one final move, 'STF'. It was the great match of the WWE
History ever.
In 2010, Cena fought with The Animal, Batista in an 'I Quit Match' at 'Over the Limit'. Batista also could not win the match and left WWE.
After 'Over the Limit', Cena appeared in Monday Night Raw with his championship belt. Cena and Rey Mysterio were put in a tag-team match against R-Truth and The New Nexus Leader, CM Punk. The WWE Hall of Famer, Bret 'The Hit Man' Hart was made the special
guest referee by the Anonymous Raw General Manager.
An excited tag-team fight was taken place at the end of the show. The Master of 619, Mysterio and WWE Champion, Cena won the match over Truth and Punk.
The 'I Quit Match' victory against The Miz was great achievement by the WWE Champion. He competed against not only The Miz, but Riley as well. Due to great patience and great momentum, The AWAS decided to keep the WWE Champion on the top of the Power 25
list.
Cena was already placed at top place previous week on 21. During the last week’s Monday Night Raw, Champion defeated Jack Swagger in a 'No Holds Barred Match' despite of confrontations by Miz and Riley.
