(1)Does anybody know what the human population increase and subsequent loss of habitat in the same period is?

(2)If there is a correlation between the two, should we (A) Stop worrying about the loss of habitat or (B) Reduce the human population dramatically and try to live in harmony with other life forms on this planet? (and stop assuming that the planet is ours to do with as we want).

  1. 1) http://www.os-connect.com/pop/p2.htm

Heres a list of how each country has increased in percentage since 1970. i think we can say everywhere has increased dramatically

    2) I feel a bit wary of believing WWF though, what they say may be right for the animals they've tracked but  we cant keep track of all wild animals, there may have been increases they dont know about  and there are still many species out there we dont even know exist, so i dont believe that  25%  is an accurate percentage

  2. think about it this way,

don't think about the effect on people in china, think about the effect to nature in china.

  3. The WWF has a track record of being dishonest about the numbers to raise more money

  4. WTF does the World Wrestling Federation have to do with wildlife?

  5. Why would you believe this?  In the United States we have more trees now than there were 1000 years ago!  But if you listen to environmentalists you would think every tree is gone and we are worse than a thousand years ago!

Antarctica is melting and breaking up - right?  No wrong!  Bits and pieces of Antarctica have been breaking off every now and then for thousands of years, this isn't new!  However, the center is increasing in ice density!   People forget that this country is larger than the entire US and larger than all of Europe!  It is normal to have bits and pieces fall off!

Are there significant facts to back this WWF claim?  Are we to take their word for anything?  Animals live and die all the time.  It is normal for species to disappear entirely - that's the way it is!   Nothing stays the same - we evolve!

The fear that HUMAN BEINGS ARE DESTROYING THE WORLD is the new danger for the news media to hype!

Thirty years ago the great danger was the COLD WAR and we would be killed in a "war of wars!"  The Military-Industrial Complex was the beneficiary of this DANGER!  Now, Global Warming and Climate Change (all normal cycle events that have occurred for thousands of times in the past) is the new DANGER to be afraid of.   Who benefits from this new DANGER to fear - Environmental Organizations for one!  Going green will mean big windfalls to many corporations (G.E. poised to make BILLIONS OF DOLLARS from environmental fixes!)

So, we have a loss of habitat when we now have more forests than 1000 years ago - who says so?  Is it the organization who wants your money?  Do you know that forests and wildlife often change every 1 or 2 thousand years anyway?    Around 20,000 years ago the last Ice Age ended (Global Warming and no petro fuels, hmmmm!!!) The receding ice left very little wildlife and no trees!  Grasses grew, short bushes came in, slightly taller trees emerged, real tall pines came in - low trees/plants/foilage/brush died from lack of sunlight.  Fires from lightening burns eveything up (no humans to fight fires) and the cycle of life changes! Animals come and go all the time!

The biggest lobby group in Washington DC is ENVIRONMENTAL GROUPS!  This is why we don't have more oil wells, this is why we don't convert our abundant coal resources to gasoline, this is why we have no refineries, this is why we don't have more nuclear power plants!   Human beings destroying the "planet" is the new DANGER to foster on the world!

I love little animals, they can be very delicious!
