The War Of States - Which US Sport Would You Like To See This In The Most?

It could be Baseball, american football, ice hockey, basketball or other?

The proposal is this: For just one month every two years, each US state has one (all-stars) team (and one home games venue stadium) made up of all the biggest stars who come from (grew up in) that state. So it's Florida versus New Jersey, etc. a chance to root for the people from YOUR childhood home area.

There can be either qualifying rounds and a final tournament of the top 16 (with or without the biggest or best states exempt from qualifying rounds) or there can be a bunch of divisions & promotion/relegation, for example the top 8 play in division 1, 3 games each: QF, SF & F +3rd,5th&7th place games in each division, and the following year, all 8ths have gone down one level and all 1sts have gone up one, giving all new opponents.

California could be split into 3-4 states to make it more excititing and even, or kept as one ...

I'm from Michigan, and I've often times dreamed of a tournament like this.  I would like to see hockey and football have one of these tournaments, because I think Michigan is one of the best states in both sports, per capita.
