Whats a similar store to The Warehouse in Aussie, Sydney?

Were moving to Aussie soon and need to get basic household items like microwaves, kettles, pots, pans, cutlery, vacuum etc etc.

In New Zealand we have The Warehouse and Kmart. The Warehouse is pretty good so whats a shop like this in Sydney? I know that Sydney has The Warehouse and Kmart also. But what are some others?

Also is there any shops like $2shops that have websites? I wana check them out online and see if they have any online catalouges.

And, what about Shops that have real cheap furniture. We will need to buy beds, lounge suite, dining suites, fridge/freezer and so on. Were just gonna get all the basic furniture and household items.

Thanks in advance!

  1. The Warehouse is the same company as in NZ.It is an NZ company.

We got heaps of stores the same as the warehouse. Also go to Big W or Kmart for better quaility.

    Good luck on the Move

If you are in Sydney,I would head for Ikea!!!!at Hombush Bay for furniture.Beware of cheap furniture here.Ikea is from sweden ,we got it and you s***w it together yourself ,its easy as and will last for ever and looks great. Not like the cheap stuff elsewhere for the same price.

    Try harveynorman

    tandy

    dicksmith

    the good guys

    Bing Lee

    Domaim or Domayne

    JB hi Fi

Always ask is that there best price when you go to the above Electrical appliance stores, you can always talk them down and they will always come down for cash. Not sure about NZ but you never pay for what they ask for TV,stero etc at the above appliance stores. If you buy say a fridge TV washer etc at the one store ask for the best price for the lot.

Then go to all the stores and do the same.I have done it and saved heaps.

Some of these stores have a interest free period ,but you won't get the best deal if you use it.If you miss apayment they will hit you with 25 percent interest,so it  isgood if you don't miss a payment and short of cash to start..read the small print.

I would not do it at Big W ,Kmart or the warehouse.

Also try Aldi ,it is a German supermarket, but often has cheap sheets, blankets ,electrical at crazy prices.I know all the companies I have mentioned have web sites.

    Hope that all helps,good luck

One other thing, being an ex cabinet maker, fantastic furniture store is rubbish, don't waste your money!!!!

  2. Hi.

We have go-lo, which sell house old items from time to time. and the reject shop. Theres big w as well, they sell all house hold items that you will need. Their prices are ok. Theres factory seconds, they have alot of discounted stuff, because the items might be a little bit damaged, or just the box.. or it could just be older.

    Ikea, harvey norman.. etc..

But its sydney, things are getting expensive here.

  3. Didn't you already ask this question?

I wouldnt be looking at the warehouse for household goods, in aus it is second rate quality, considered a $2 shop along with GoLo, The Liquidators, Reject Shop... just google them and see.

Fantastic furniture, lounges plus, ikea, all have reasonable quality things but you get what you pay for. I would wait till bigger stores have sales for your bulk items and furniture, try Harvey Norman, Domayne, Oz Design, Freedom Furniture.

Kmart is better quality then the warehouse in oz.. Also target, big w, myer and david jones.

  4. The Warehouse, Go-lo, The Reject Shop (don't let the name scare you off lol). There's probably some more shops like that but those 3 are the ones I think are well-known.

Target and Big W will have household items and they are reasonably priced.

I'm not sure about cheap furniture shops as opposed to expensive furniture shops (?)... You'll find both cheap stuff and expensive stuff in a furniture shop. For better value, buy furniture in sets instead of individual pieces.

Fantastic Furniture, Harvey Norman, Furniture One, Freedom Furniture, Oz Design Furniture, Captain Snooze (they'll have beds and mattresses, maybe other bedroom furniture too.. i'm not sure).

Probably a lot more shops but those are the ones I can think of right now. Google them, I assume they all have websites.

  5. Clint's Crazy Bargains

    Go Lo

    Price Attack

    The Reject Shop
