The Weight Measurement "Stone"?

How much is a stone? Is it a British measurement and if so where else do they use it? I thought that all of Europe used kg. Are stones just used to weigh people? How much is a stone compared to a pound (weight not money)?

  1. They use it in the U.K., especially England and Wales.   A stone is 14lbs.  They also use Kg like the rest of Europe.

  2. 14 pounds i believe

  3. The stone is a unit of mass. It is part of the Imperial system of weights and measures used in the British Isles, and formerly used in most Commonwealth countries.

It is equal to 14 pounds and to 6.35029318 kilograms.

Eight stone make a hundredweight in the Imperial system.
