Have you ever found yourself in the situation of having to plunge the few thousand feet from an aeroplane to the ocean and been *really* grateful for that whistle?

  1. No, but it was standard kit when flying over water that we had a whistle attached to our PLP's in the event of ditching.

  2. I'm not sure of the purpose of this question but I have had the experience of ditching in the English Channel at night and I was picked up by a fishing boat which located me by my whistle, so yes, I was really grateful for that whistle.

  3. I have done sea survival training, and when you get very cold, and there is lots of noise from wind and rain, etc, you cannot yell loud enough for others in the next swell or wave to hear you.  They often can't see you either, due to the waves.  The whistle takes very little effort to use, is very loud and carries above all the noise.

I was very glad to have that whistle.
