“The Wizard” gets a reverse spell by “The Hammer”, yet it is not stopping Whitlock!!!
The faceoff between Simon Whitlock and Andy Hamilton had mixed previews. Whitlock, nicknamed “The Wizard”, had a compelling run in recent games while Andy “The Hammer” Hamilton had an average score.
The battle started off at the Premiere League play-offs where both “The Wizard” and “The Hammer” were on top of their games.
Whitlock started off with confidence and it was speculated that victory was destined for “The Wizard”.
Surprisingly, Hamilton turned the table upside down and snatched victory in the closing minutes.
Hamilton’s win over Whitlock surprised everyone and was in the news all over the darts world. Just when things were going shady for Whitlock, he came back with a bang and shocked everyone with a qualifying win for the semi-finals.
This victory over shadowed his unexpected defeat at the hands of Hamilton at the play-off’s and confirmed the dominance of “The Wizard” in the competition.
Whitlock, famous for his nine darters is in compelling form and is recovering from his previous performances. He has stood up for his nickname and gave a great show at the Premiere League.
Whitlock has never won a World Championship and he is trying desperately to have a win on his name. His performance is a good sign towards his future games and can ensure his first ever World Championship crown.
Hamilton on the other hand focuses on keeping his cool and focusing on the right aspects. He repeatedly spoke of not being influenced by any factor other than winning and keep on winning.
His best performance saw him beating James Wade 8-5 in a thrilling round at the 2012 Premier League Darts. This battle was considered the best play by Hamilton by far in his darts career.
“The Hammer knocked out The Wizard”. This was the headline in the news after Hamilton defeated Whitlock. Now the focus resides in the upcoming rounds where both of these darts magicians are going to be judged.
Both Hamilton and Whitlock have strong potential of lifting the trophy, yet, only one of them is going to the finals after their individual matches against tough opponents. Only time will speak of the best among them.
