The World Champion Randy Orton still on the top position – WWE Rankings
The new World Wrestling Entertainment World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton is still holding the top place in the Academy of Wrestling Science and Arts Power 25 list of May 14 for the consecutive three weeks.
The Viper grabbed the first position on April 30. In the respective week, Orton was drafted to WWE SmackDown in the 2011 Drafts of April 25. At the same time, The Viper smashed Dolph Ziggler with high density RKO, as it was the last match on Monday Night
Raw. Five days after Raw, Orton appeared in Friday Night SmackDown. Orton’s name was seen in SmackDown roster after five years. He traded RKO’s on Drew McIntyre and Alex Riley, who confronted him on his first appearance in SmackDown.
A tag-team match also took place between Orton along with Christian, Alberto Del Rio and Brodus Clay. The Viper took his first victory after treating Clay with an RKO. Four people were hunted with the dangerous RKO by The Viper during that week. The AWAS
decided to place Orton on the top of the 25 powerful WWE superstars due to his stability of victories during the week.
On May 1, Orton fought with his traditional opponent CM Punk at Extreme Rules. Punk could not stand until the referee’s ten count and Orton won the “Last Man Standing Match”. On May 6, the SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long set up a World Heavyweight
Championship match between the champion, Christian and Orton, as the match was decided by the WWE Universe. Orton won the match after a 20 minute fight and became the new World Heavyweight Champion. Christian could only defend the World title for five days.
On May 7, The AWAS unveiled the ranking for that week and the Viper was still on the top of the Power 25 list.
Now, Orton is again leading the 25 powerful superstars of the WWE in this week’s ranking. On May 13, Christian and Orton again teamed up and defeated Mark Henry and Sheamus on SmackDown. It looks as if the Viper may maintain the top place in the ranking
for the coming few weeks.
