The World Club Challenge 2012 sponsored by Heinz Big Soup - Rugby League

Heinz Big Soup has been revealed to be the sponsors of The World Club Challenge 2012. This was shared by Leeds chief executive, Gary Hetherington, alongside the campaign’s final venue confirmation for Headingly.
With this decision made, Leeds have now gained home soil advantage, which will play a major role. However, there will be some minor tweaks in Super League Campaign next year. These changes will include the rescheduling of round three fixtures to accommodate
the Challenge Series.
Amongst so many changes made, there was another significant change, which was to shift the encounter to Friday nights instead of playing the games on Sunday. This decision was reached by the club because Leeds do not like playing on Sundays and pushed for
the shift.
Before reaching the final decision about the Challenge venue, Huddersfield's Galpharm Stadium, was also considered by the series organisers, who later turned down the option because of undersoil heating issues. Eventually, the organisers decided in favour
of Headingley, which has pleased Leeds.
The venue choice took longer than expected before the final pick was made and has brought the Club Challenge to England for the 12th successive year. It was shared by the campaign organisers that they were considering other options too but since the process
was consuming too much time, higher authorities stuck to their long time venue.
Expressing his thoughts about the venue decision, Hetherington stated, "It has taken quite a while to determine both the date and the venue but we are delighted that Headingley should stage this event. We desperately want to win the game and, if our crowd
and our home stadium gives us that edge, we'll certainly take it. Whatever the weather can throw up, we'll make sure the pitch is fit. We now have a lot of technology and we won't have a game here for two weeks prior to that game."
England is also the Rugby League World Cup 2013 venue. The World Cup is the next mega sporting event in the world of rugby league. All teams are preparing hard ahead of the campaign to leave their mark at the event.
