The World Golf Championship will now host the Ryder stars in Shanghai at The HSBC Championship
After playing the most thrilling Ryder cup event, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson will now head to the World Golf Championship event- The HSBC Championship. The tournament will commence from November 4th to 7th in Shanghai where players
like Luke Donald, Padraig Harrington and Rory Mcllory will appear. The Sheshan International Golf Club will also include the peril of Lee Westwood, Graeme Mc Dowell, Ian Poulter and Martin Kaymer.
This event is the one of the second highest ranked golfing field since USA 2009. The Sheshan International Golf Club is greeting 7 of the world’s top 10 golfers and a total of 20 players out of 30 top ranked golfers in the world. This is the first time Asia
has witnessed such a tough line-up playing together at the World Golf Championship.
The world number one golfer, Tiger Woods along with the number three will step into the field along with the champion of the British open 2010, Louis Oosthuizen and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational Champion, Hunter Mahan.
Although Woods and Mickelson are separated by only some numerals in World rankings, the differences in their personalities are separated by many figures. Mahan claims that both of these American players couldn’t be any more different. He played with Mickelson
in certain practice sessions for several years and uses the same coach Sean Foley as Tiger Woods for the swings.
Many critics are now ramming on the wannabe Wood-Mickelson rivalry. Where Woods remains completely aloof and stoic at the field, Mickelson talks to his caddie Jim Mackay at every turn. He claims that talking relaxes him. The current event may be able to
bring the Wood-Mickelson rivalry everyone wants to see or it could be just plain Ryder Cup revenge since the 1 point defeat the team had faced.
According to Harrington, the HSBC Championship holds positive vibes for him. The 3 time Major winner claims that the victory at Celtic Manor with Europe has been a great uplift in his confidence. He says that he being one of the winners in the Ryder Team
had been a great feeling. The Irishman further hopes that the win could be a turning point for him this season and could make the rest of the year marvellous, including the HSBC Championship.
The Shehsan club was inaugurated in the year 2005 and Harrington has been playing it ever since. The thirty nine year old said that he truly admires the golf club and loves playing on it. Another reason for the Irishman to enjoy his time at the club is because
of the Chinese enthusiasm he receives, Harrington says this is what brings him back to this place every year.
Another major threat to the players at the HSBC Championship is Donald. The world number eight has plans of performing even better than the previously played Ryder Cup. Donald won three games in the Celtic Manor out of four and will now charge Sheshan furthering
his earlier performance.
The thirty two year old says that after the Ryder event, he is really looking forward to the rest of the season. Donald finished 14th at this golf course last time in 2006 and this occasion will see him trying to do better.
Apart from the Ryder threats, Paul Casey is also appearing at the club. He missed the qualifying round for the Ryder Cup but now has his hopes up on ending the season with an impressive card. Casey stands on the 7th place in the world ranking
and has his focus on tuning up the US PGA Tour to attain a certain portion of the prize fund of seven Million dollars.
