The World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton, stands second in the WWE Rankings
The World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton, climbed to the second spot in the Power 25 list of the WWE that were updated by The AWAS today for the weekend of June 25. The Viper, Orton, grabbed this place due to World Championship victory over Christian
at ‘Capitol Punishment’.
After punting Sheamus in the skull, The Viper started his previous week with World Championship match against Christian at ‘Capitol Punishment’ on June 19. The Viper retained his championship by defeating Christian in the Championship match. Even,
Christian’s foot was under the ropes, but referee could not notice it and gave victory to The Viper. One day after the victory, The Viper and his team won another match against Christian during Monday Night Raw.
On the upcoming Friday Night SmackDown, The SmackDown General Manager, Theodore Long, gave Christian another chance. He announced that Christian could have another title shot if he would defeat Kane and that was set as the main event of SmackDown segment.
Later on, Mark Henry interfered in the match and Christian disqualified. The GM changed the match to a tag-team match of Christian and Henry against Kane and Orton.
The Viper tried his best to win the match, but could not stay put against Mark Henry. Christian and Henry won the match when Henry hit The Viper, World’s Strongest Slam. Although, The Viper could not win the tag-team fight during Friday Night SmackDown,
but still he was placed on the second position as he already won two matches during last week. Christian availed another title shot for World Heavyweight Championship. Therefore, he will face The Viper at ‘Money in the Bank’ on July 17.
The Viper was at the third place in last week’s rankings. He did not show any good performance during the Friday Night SmackDown on June 17. The Viper was made the special guest of announce-table during the fight of Christian and Sheamus. When Christian
won the match, The Viper punted in the skull of Sheamus. The Viper’s punt caused a serious neck injury for Sheamus and he was sent to hospital for medical treatment.
