I've read a number of scientific reports on this test scheduled in just over a week. Most experts agree that even with the amount of energy it will take to create this experiment, it is not enough to produce any effect that could endanger lives outside the immediate tunnel area.  Unfortunately, there has never been anything like this witnessed before, so there is no assurance anyone can give you otherwise.

I for one think that it will open up a new era in science, and will help to prove some new and old theories.

They are going to test that thing soon, but the first part (in 9 days) isn't the collision of the particles. They are just going to fire a particle one way, to make sure that the trip is as they planned it. Then later, they fire the other one. (Also fired alone.) Much later on, they will fire both at each other. Then we may be screwed. Or not. Nobody knows, or can tell for sure what will happen. Ooooh scary.
