The Worst Witch books were the original Harry Potter?

I just bought the books for my niece as I loved them when I was young. Anyway they are basically the same as Harry Potter except its just girls + theres no Voldemort

Mildred Hubble- Harry

Miss Cackle - Dumbledore

Miss Hardbroom - Snape

Maud Moonshine - Ron/Hermione

Ethel Hallow - Malfoy

The basic characters are the same I think Jill Murphy was ROBBED all she got out of it was a measley made of TV movie of the first book and a CITV series JK got millions of sales and hollywood blockbusters not to mention the merchandise.

Books can mirror different books a lot unintentionally. Just because they are similar doesn't mean that they are the same. Jill was not robbed but rather over powered by a more popular writer.
