  1. Nope.  Not this year.  Their last WS title has been marred by steroids, and they've been choking in the playoffs ever since.  The Rays and Sox are too good this season.

  2. Haha I like Marc E's answer

"They're gonna get in either with the Wild Card or winning the division"

I seriously doubt it ("Oh you retarded Red Sox fan what do you know?"). Just hear me out.

The team is being carried by their starting pitching. Mike Mussina has been absolutely SPECTACULAR and is on pace to get his first ever 20 win season. And like at age 40. Andy Pettitte has pitched great and he was thinking of retirement for 2 seasons now. I have to expect these guys to cool off and even with Wang possibly returning, I just don't see the starting pitching depth. Sure there's Hughes and Kennedy but they really haven't shown much to me. The only solid guy is Joba, which is funny considering he was in the pen.

Also, that offense is not what it used to be. Giambi is doing great but Jeter has really declined this year. A-Rod is a stud but with so many injuries, do they really have the supporting cast? Also when the players are back, where are they going to play? None of them can play defense (Giambi, Posada, Matsui-All DH). I just don't think the offense can carry this team like in past season's because of the injuries.

And that bullpen is shaky. Mo Rivera is a stud and is about as sure a save as you're gonna get but if you SERIOUSLY trust Kyle Farnsworth and Jose Veras to help out the rotation, you are kidding yourself. Farnsworth is the Heilman of the Yankees.

I still think they make a run but not good enough.

  3. Yes, they will. Either as the Wild Card or by being first in the AL East.

  4. Like Yankee Fever said, and i say also Yankee Lovers will say Yes and Yankee Haters will say no

  5. Not this year.

  6. No.. Not this year anyway.

  7. the yankees have been pretty hot but if you look at it posada is done they just got sexen thats a rip off and the rays will choke and get wild card and they can't stop the sox so no their 13 years is now over. and sorry to say im rooting against them Go sox

  8. yea i think they will.theyll win the wild card.i think there gonna make a comeback

  9. It's gonna be a tough one this season. It's gonna be real close to see who gets wild card and the pennant. I find that it is going to go a two ways. Yanks-Red Sox fight for second or Rays-Yanks fighting for second. I don't find that it isn't so much the fight for first that will make the difference this year. If the Yankees keep up their current streak and momentum than I can see them at least getting the Wild Card, if not, they put up a good fight and shouldn't be ashamed of getting what they got for the amount of injuries and lack of leadership Joe Girardi has shown. It should really be a showdown when October approaches closer and closer between the Rays-Yanks-Sox this year.

Even further prediction to the World Series, I predict that the AL East will be in it this year hands down. The AL East in my opinion really is the strongest in the AL right now. So, whomever it may be, AL East will win the World Series this year, depending on who the NL team is. With the Cubs the way they are this year and the Brewers it could be a close match. Cubs in against Rays-Yanks-Sox it will be a close one. Brewers or any other NL team, I believe the Rays-Yanks-Sox will take the title this year.

  10. THIS IS THE YEAR THEY CHOKE.

  11. I think they have a shot at play offs & division whether not the haters want to believe it or not

  12. hahhahahahhahahahah H E L L No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Of course they are!! They weren't doing so good in the first half of the season, but they have really caught up lately!! They have had outstanding pitching and they have been scoring a lot of runs.  They have won 6 games in a row so far and 10 in a row at home.

Go YANKEES!!! 26 time WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!

  14. I'm not sure, the AL East is also unpredictable. There is still a lot of baseball left and anything can happen. Like last year the Mets were in 1st the whole year and coming down to the last stretch of the season they choked and the Phillies took over.

  15. NO

    TO MANY OLDER PLAYERS

  16. Not likely.  At least not this year.  They will win the whole thing after George Steinbrenner is gone.

  17. i'm a yankee fan, and even i'm saying no as of right now...i might change my mind later on but not right now

  18. LFT says Yes! and especially 2009 check out my source cited

  19. No way are they a playoff-caliber team.

  20. This question has been asked a million and one times on Y!A. It always goes like this:

Yankee lovers will say yes, Yankee haters will say no, you will choose the opinion that matches yours as best answer... so is this really worth answering?
