Question:

The air in my bedroom smells stale?

It's very annoying at night when I go to bed. I've read some suggestions that say put out air freshners but I would like to know the cause of the problem. Sometimes my room feels really damp so I thought that maybe it was mold, and then i put my nose to the carpet and that's what's smelling. I purchased my home in September of 07. Any suggestions for removing stale air smell?

  1. Try a dehumidifier in your room

and a bowel of white vinegar is supposed to remove a number of odors in a room

  2. Remove the carpet and get a bug sprayer then mix bleach and water in it 60 parts water 40 parts bleach spray the floor 2 or 3 times or more if needed and keep a dehumidifier going during the summer.

  3. Try baking soda.  Sprinking it generously all over the carpet and let it sit about an hour, then vaccum.  Also let in some fresh air.

  4. have the entire room made over NEW FLOORING new WALL PANEL and CE LING new everything

  5. open the windows let your room dry out. Get a ventilation system installed that moves and dries the air using the dry air from your roof space.

  6. try opening a window on a hot  day with low humidity,it will help for a week or so.go rent a carpet cleaner and go crazy and it will last around a year.put new flooring down to fix theproblem, wood flooring,no mold.

  7. I'd focus on removing the problem, not just how to cover it up.

Your windows sealed good from rain? Could you have a leaking pipe in your bathroom and you just don't see it? Is your a/c dripping water?

Those are just a few things to check. Something is getting it wet. You can always use lysol or febreeze to cover it up until you find the source.

  8. some one f**t it!.

  9. open a window...hire a pro and make sure nothing is really wrong - mold, or something else.  best of luck
