The air quality here is horrible due to wildfires...would it be better a mile away at the ocean beach?

The kids are going crazy because they can't play outside due to the bad smoky air quality. We live along the coast and I thought maybe a trip to the beach would have some clean air...any thoughts?

  1. hard to say it depends on the wind. If the wind is blowing off he ocean it should be better at the beach but if it is blowing out to see it could be worse, you may want to look inland more

  2. If the wind is an ocean breeze (which it often is) and the water is colder than the land, the beach should have much cleaner air. Also, the colder ocean air forms a clean, stable layer underneath the smoky, hot air, at least near the shoreline.
