costs. Why not instead of providing ever more dismal meals or no meals at all, serve Doritos or something people will pay for?

If I'm on a 5hr flight and they came by with a mini 7/11 on the trolly, I would pay double the regular price to get some decent munchies.

I guess the real question is, why isn't the airline industry more innovative? Seems like the least innovative industry in the world and therefore always on the verge of bankrupcy.

  1. you answered your own question-they are not innovative at all and make no effort to provide what customers really want. What they do offer is inefficient. The effort to provide passengers with 5 ounces of soda is so ridiculous it's funny.

With this economy, some will not survive. Some say less competition will be bad for consumers but in this case I disagree-less compettion could mean more efficiencies and perhaps lower costs. The "hub" system now already limits competiton-there are lots of airlines, but they all don't serve all cites. If fewer airlines served bigger markets it might be an improvement.

A stupid example but it irks me-they haven't even changed their little speech in 15years-i am reminded it is a non-smoking flight-no kidding? Just like every flight in the country for the last 15 years. Thanks for reminding me.
