The american store costco?

im in australia and in our city of Melbourne the american store Costco is going to be here.

can any americans tell me what they sell? whats the best part of this place? are they what current affair shows here and have hyped it to be?

they basically sell everything...from household goods to groceries to electronics and some clothing. the main attraction of costco is the fact that they sell in bulk, meaning you can stock up on certain goods and groceries. Although this has a great rep in america, some families choose not to shop at costco b/c they get sick of the bulk. Large packaging often means a lot of the same food, and many people like variety in their life. but for certain things like electronics and books, etc, they often have great deals.

in america, costco is a shopping "Club", it costs 40 american dollars per year to be a member, and you get reduced prices on many name-brand items and large quantities of it. they also give out free samples of lots of the delicious food they sell, so you should always go shopping hungry :)

the down side is that they only accept debit cards, checks, cash, and american express. no visa and mastercard credit cards.

Costco sells pretty much everything. Household items, Grocery, Clothing, Meat, Produce, Pharmacy, Computers. Their inventory on non-standard items changes, like one time i saw a 9' longboard, a treehouse, etc.  I myself bought my queen size mattress there for a great price. Members receive a coupon booklet in the mail once or twice a year. Most things they sell in bulk sizes, and they only accept cash, (debit, checks), and american express. Some locations also sell snack food items: pizza, nachos, smoothies, some have automobile tire and oil change shops, some locations sell gas for your car at cheap prices. They have a great return policy as well. Going on Sundays is crazy since everyone has a shopping cart and they are huge and it's soo crowded.  The best part of this place is that it's perfect for families. I don't have a family so I don't buy groceries there, but I liked getting my mattress for cheap and when I lost my glasses, I took my prescription to costco and got an affordable new pair of glasses within 10 days.
