  1. I think it stays stored.  You can google a Resolved question that was posted 2 years ago, and still see the thread.


  2. The data is stored in a database.  

    If you encounter a form such as a registration form it will add the information submitted with the form to the database and store it for later use.

    When you go to a page or login or request certain things a script retrieves information from the database and displays the result.

    A database is a method of storing and organizing data.
