The application process for the Cheesecake factory restaurant, do they pay you during the time spent training?

I am in need of a job ASAP and can't wait two weeks. Not sure whether to hand in this application...

  1. i think it is against labor laws to not pay you for training time..


  2. If you're on the clock, then they HAVE to pay you. It's worked like that in every restaurant I've worked in or in every restaurant my friends have worked in. Just be sure to ask when you turn in the application how much they pay for training, because it isn't always full pay of what you'd normally get.

  3. You will get paid for the training time, but they may hold your first week or two of checks in case you quit.  Thats pretty much how 90% of the jobs work...

  4. I'm pretty sure companies HAVE to pay you for training. If you are working, due to workmans comp./insurance laws, you have to be on the clock. If you are on the clock, you have to be paid.

    But yea, just be careful, if you are doing it just to get fast money and then quit, you may be charged for handbooks, nametags, hats, uniform items, etc...
