The area of kentish town, ??

im going to be working there soon maybe and was just wondering what the areas like as a few of my friends said the area is one of the most dodgy in london so was just wondering if that was true lol

ill be up in the middle of Fortess road,

any ideas thanks

It's not the nicest of areas, but still safer than other parts of London. The tube station has a bad reputation as a young man was killed in a stabbing there in 2006.

However, if you keep yourself safe you shouldn't have any problems. Don't walk alone at night, and if you need to get around after dark, take a cab / taxi.

It's quite a busy area because of nearby Camden Town, so stick to well lit streets and main roads and you should have no problems. Obviously keep your mobile phone, iPod, wallet, etc, out of view to avoid muggers - but that applies anywhere in London!

It's ok. I used to live just round the corner. In London there are dodgy areas but it's not too bad I would say. Plus you're close to Hampstead Heath which is a good place to go when the weather's nice and Camden, which is great for a night out.

It is not bad and is certainly better than Tottenham ,Stoke Newington, Hackney or Brixton.
