I found it very interesting that in Britain in papers and media that the Jewish Holocaust is spelt with a capital "H" but any other Holocaust such as the armenian is spelt with a small "h". I think all genocide is as worse as the next one.

  1. As genocides go the Armenian one was small beer compered to the Holocaust, not that it made it the less awful , but I'm afraid in history size does count .

  2. Here in UK there is much emphasis put on the Holocaust with a capital H and for very good reason.

It was Britain which decided the issue of the creation of the State of Israel and it is Britain who finally decided to have a Holocaust Day of Remembrance - and about time too.

As to what happened or may not have happened in Turkey concerning the genocide of the Armenians [capital A by the way] - that is a matter entirely for the Turkish Parliament and People.  It is an internal matter in other words.

    We will remember them.

  3. The suggestion in one answer that any genocide is an "internal" matter is a disgrace.  I am not a religious person but I agree that we are all our brothers keeper in the sense that we should be concerned at any humanitarian crime.

The genocide against the Armenians in 1915 was savage and reportedly 1 million died as a consequence.  The fact that more died as a result of n**i atrocities does not make it any the less a human tragedy for which the Turks should be ashamed.

  4. I sadly say as and Armenian, that the Armenia seem to have been an "underdog" when compared to other country's(Armenia is not commonly known) mostly it is not a big country nor with wealth or much power. Not allot of famous things about the Armenian are shared to the world which have caused Armenia and Armenians to have been "unpopular" since it has not done many things in history that contributes to the world, yet to Armenian we know of many things that the Armenian have done over the thousands of years. The jewish Holocaust had been in the 1940s as the Armenian Genocide was in 1915. As the jewish war had been more close to in today's world than the Armenian war. yet being both very important there are few survives of the Armenian Genocide due to the war being much earlier that the jewish Holocaust, there seems to be more survives. I am sure in many years as time goes on the Jewish holocaust Will be treated as the same way as the Armenian Genocide is at this point of time, but basically i is because the jewish war was 25 years after the Armenian war.
