When I turn the main valve back on will I get liquid to my pilot lights?

The attendant was inexperienced and used a different procedure than others, the empty 10-gallon tank has never taken more than 9 gallons before, this time the attendant failed to open the vent, when 11 gallons were pumped in I turned off the pump.

  1. There's NO WAY you can put 11 gallons of liquid propane in a 10 gallon tank.  Your inexperience attendant probably didn't reset the meter to zero before he started pumping.

In any case, your pressure regulator should prevent any liquid from escaping from the tank into the supply lines in your RV.

  2. Stand the tank upright,  and WEARING GLOVES TO PROTECT YOUR SKIN,  open the vent.    Let the excess bleed until it spews vapor,  no liquid.     Be sure to be far from any source of ignition,   keep in mind propane is heavy and will gather in low areas.

  3. Instead of taking a chance why dont you just vent off the excess................................
