  1. Find the formula wgt of the repeating unit and divide it into 192,000...

    Polyethyleneterephthalate is ...

    ...H(OCH2CH2OOCC6H4COO)nCH2CH2OOC6H4CO...

    having a formula wgt of n=208 (if my arith is correct).

    So n = 192,000 / 208 = 923.

    More accurately, since the end group is included in the overall MW, subtract one to get 922 repeating units...depending upon how fussy your instuctor is  :-))

    Try it yourself, checking my arith in the process.

    Added later: Do not know why the final group will not print out...formula shd end in COOH...this site can be weird...lol
