I want to try a different brand of contacts. My left eye axis number on my prescription is 30 but the contact lenses that i want only have 20 or 70 for the axis on the left eye. Will there be much of a difference going from 30 to 20?

  1. It depends mostly on the amount of astigmatism. You need a contact lens that fills your prescription anyway. Other brand of contact lens may move rotating axis out of prescription and that needs to be evaluated and "fixed"by a doctor.

  2. 10 degrees could make a big difference in the clarity...and the lens may turn even more than that, and you could end up with 20 or more degrees difference...

I don't understand...there is no such thing as a lens that only comes in 20 or 70 degrees axis.

At any rate...you really can't just change the brand without being fitted for them by the Dr.....there is no way to know how it will fit or rotate on your eye without trying it first and being evaluated.
