  1. It's infected. It could be your earring and you could have allergies to the type of metal in that particual earring. Is it hypo-allergenic?

Go by some bactine and clean the earing hole really well, like when you first got it pierced. Use the earring to swish it around. Making sure the earring is hypo-allergenic of course. Then get some antibiotic salve and use that as well. Really get it on the area infected, but also get it throughout the ear hole and the front of it as well. Again, i put it on the earring stud to help get it into the ear hole. The antibiotic salve can be purchased anywhere you buy bandaids. Walmart, target, kmart, grocery stores and pharmacies. It's about 5 bucks, and the bactine is as well.

If you kill off the infection, you shoulnd't have to repierce it. The hole should still be there, if you haven't left it to close for too long and you should be able to just punch the earring back through. Painful though, so you may not feel like it. It can take a few months to heal properly before you can pierce it again.

You can also ice your ear at night and take ibuprophen to help take the swelling down as well.

    good luck.
