hello..

I went to bank of america to check what happened to my checkbox that I've ordered.

he asked for the social security # so i told him the last 4 digits and then he cut my last 1 digit and said oh wait hold on

and then he asked me to see my credit card, which I gave him.

He saw it and typed something (maybe the #) in the computre and told me the info about what happened to my check.

And then he made this weird marketing cheater face and told me I have some big money in my account and will be happy to register me in SEEDEE? or CD? wtf i dont know and like $5000 something thing -_-;

are they allow to do that? Is he thinking about something bad?

Why would he recommend me that? It was like he wanted to get advantage of me of money or something

and is it okay to give him my credit card to see? would he use memorize or copied it in his computer and use it for something else?

  1. Relax. He is paid to sell the bank's products like CDs.

  2. A CD is a Certificate of Deposit.

    You give your money to the bank for a set time and receive a set FDIC insured rate, so if the market goes down, you do not lose money.  CD's can be a wise no risk investment, but compare rates and lengths, you can get penalized for withdrawing your money early.  And, I wouldn't worry too much about a bank teller stealing your credit card#, they are watched very closely, I would

    And yes, bank tellers get commissions for selling CD's, so that's why the bank teller's eyes lit up, he probably saw that you had a decent sum of money and your checking account was probably set for entry level, w/ fees, or at least w/o perks reserved for customers of higher caliber and saw an easy sale.

    And, I wouldn't worry too much about a bank teller stealing your credit card#, they are watched very closely, I would worry about the next waiter that you hand your credit card to, and walks out of your sight with it.
