The basis of real life in fantasy novels ?

Even though fantasy writing is unrealistic, it must be based on both truth and life experience if it is to work.

Do you agree or disagree with this? Can you give some examples?

I agree. I am a writer of fantasy stories myself. Usually the thing that ties down a fantasy novel is human relationships. The feelings and emotions they have and experience are just the same as youor me would experience. Which gives you the reality in a fantasy novel.
