  3. North.  It was written to the tune of a song praising John Brown the Abolitionist.

  4. North.  Think of the last line (not counting the refrain): "As he died to make men holy, let us die to make men free."

  5. Although all Americans cherish "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" as a patriotic song, the song originally represented the Union Army (the North) during The War Between the States while "Dixie" represented the Confederacy (the South).
