tina, get over yourself. this is not an attempt to try and build up busch's "popularity" to that of junior. you see that in your head, probably because you fear it happening. for the umpteenth time, this is a question about REAL rivalries in the sport, as the people who answered before and after you figured out. quit being so paranoid and just answer the question.

  1. I t use to be the driver use to speak their minds about allot of stuff like the old day and also could drive like they really love to drive i think think could be good and evil

  2. The only rivalry I see in the good vs evil is the good (every other drivers fan base) vs the evil (everyone who calls themselves Jr nation).

  3. Here is the one that comes to mind for me, Rusty Wallace(good) and Jeff Gordon(evil) in the late 90's. The ones you have listed are good too especially #2.

  4. How about the feud between Dale Sr & DW.

    DW good Senior bad.

Way back when Senior was just getting started DW gave him a break with a car he owned.  Senior proceeded to smash it to pieces, he ran into every car on the track.  DW was one upset man didn't have a lot of cash and rebuilding racecars is pretty expensive so he never let Sr. drive for him again.

Sr steadily became a top driver he & DW raced hard & clean many times, they did have a great friendship. Then one day in the last laps of a race Sr. took them both out in a crash that DW surley would have won. DW was PO'd I think he said something like "I know he'd never try to hurt someone but I could have been killed...man oh man"  Senior did that on pourpose it was a hard hit and all Senior said  about it was "it's just racin"

DW broke off his relationship with Sr. and for many years they were arch enimines on and off the track.

Then just a couple years before Sr's death one of the drivers in a car that Sr owned was involved in a horrific crash (I cannot for the life of me rememeber the guys name that drove the car...he was airlifted to a hospital after his crash) and would not be able to drive for a while and as it turned out he never did come back to racing.  DW did not have a ride at that time anymore & Sr. sucked up his ego and differences and called on DW to drive for him.  Now mind you this was after DW's career was on a downward spiral.  Senior remembered what DW did for him in his rookie years and Sr. put DW back in a car.  That conversation went something like this.....Senior:  Did ya hear about the crash?  DW: Yep.  Senior:  How would you like to drive for me?  DW:  Yep.  Senior:  See ya at practice.

DW said that is all they needed to bring their friendship back, no other words needed to be spoken.  Respect was restored.  Darrell refers to that a lot, he was very happy they made up before Senior died.

  5. There has been many great rivalries in NASCAR history because people like that kind of thing.  The latest is Kyle and Jr. but there have been many.  Dale Sr. had a rivalry with Jeff Gordon if I am not mistaken.

  6. The ones you mentioned are the same ones that I have witnessed. Before my time of watching NASCAR I have heard about the Gordon, Earnhardt rivalry. Also read and watched the Earnhardt, Waltrip rivalry. MANY years ago, before they ever became friends. Watched some old tapes on that too. That was some good, hard racing between those two.

  7. Not difficult at all, the one common factor is the surname, Busch.  Hence, Busch=EVIL.

  8. These are school yard. These modern feuds as they are being hyped as are PR for NASCAR,the next track on the schedule, and PR for the drivers. All this does is fuel the he said she said "bull cookies" that keep the fans feuding more than the drivers.

But fueds were back with Curtis Turner,Derringer,Moore,Teague were real .These were when drivers carried guns and if you saw a baseball bat in the pits it was not to "flare" out the fenders.

So todays feuds are smoke and mirrows to get the fans fueled up.

  9. Steffy, the driver you mentioned was Steve Park, and he did race again(at least until another bad wreck a few years later), in fact he won the Rockingham race immediately after Dale Sr. died.

  10. Another question trying to compare Kyle Busch to Dale Jr. The fans will do anything to try to build up Kyle to Jr's popularity.

Montoya and Stewart looks like a new rivalry.

  11. Bobby Allison vs. Richard Petty
