  1. my roommate's cat.

  2. I LOVE Président Brie.

It's the best, the best best best!

Try to find some. It's imported I believe.

  3. I also love "President" but the serving eg ripeness, room temperature is also very important for the max. flavour. And of course a good French red wine to go with, lol.

  4. Brie de Meaux

This is one of two cheeses that are regulated in production by INAO with their French A.O.C. This means that the cheese is made to exacting standards and produced by hand as opposed to the mass produced, industrial stuff.

You can't find this in the states in it's raw form (usually, sometimes it slips through to small artisanal focused stores), but the flavors of buttered eggs and mushrooms combined with the silky consistancy are incredible. As you're asking for a once in your life experience, maybe that can include a trip to France for a delightful experience.

President brie and those other Wisconsin imitators are bland, almost flavorless, and not worth the expenditure of a 'once-in-a-lifetime' brie tasting.

  5. If you have a Trader Joe's near you they have some good ones,  Because we can't get the authentic raw milk brie in the U.S. they have one that is a close second.  It's stronger than President's or Peacock, both of which are very good, but if you never get a chance to go to France it's to die for.
