The best and free antivirus program/software?

I have a vista and im using Avira Antivirus, however, its unclear and i don't know how to function it.

Personally I like Avira and Avast the best. AVG is pretty good too, but I never liked how it would add its own signature at the end of all my emails. All three antiviruses are extremely easy to use.

I used to use Avast, but recently switched to Avira because it was proven to catch a significant amount more recent viruses than the other free ones and I've confirmed this through my own ridiculous mistakes.

The best free antivirus would be AVG 8. Its the latest and greatest free antivirus out. If you don't like AVG, there is also a copy of Avast! for free too, but I had trouble with Avast.
