Taro in Brewer Street was my regular, before I started going to Ikkuyu onTottenham Court Road instead.

I recommend walking the extra 10 minutes up to Ikkuyu. It's on TCR near Gower Street tube.

The tough part about sushi is that more or less the more you pay for it the better it is. As a mid-priced option try Cocoon at Piccadilly Circus (http://www.cocoon-restaurants.com/), or for the lower end of the scale, Yo Sushi in Poland Street in Soho is always good. I have also eaten takeout sushi from Pham Sushi (somewhere near Liverpool St Station, cant remember where) and it was amazing. Not the absolute cheapest option but also nowhere in the league of Nobu with regard to price.
