The best digital camcorder out there??????

Question

My family is looking to buy a digital video camera or camcorder. We want a really good one but for a reasonably low price. Which camcorders would you recommend? We definitely want digital, no tapes! Please include links and pictures.

But digital camera and digital recorder are really the same these days

Digital camera= smaller and easy to carry around, looks cooler. Can record to

Digital Recorder= Has more memory to record  and can also take pics, heavy and takes up more space

Digital camcorders use tape!  MiniDV is what the pros use and it's still the best value for money.

MiniDV's by far the best for editing, too!  If your PC hasn't already got one you'll need to install a firewire card. They're cheap, easy to install and readily available. You'll also need a firewire cable.
