We are having hamburgers for dinner with fresh hamburger but I don't like hambugers that much they are alright but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to make the hamburgers taste better. What is the best way to cook them?? We have a hamburger maker, a toster over, a regular oven, and frying pans. Also what are the best topping?? Would green pepper, onion, mayo, mustard, cheese, and lettuce taste good on a hamburger?? Thanks!!

  1. You are on the right track. If you want an original twist,

    Try Provolone Burgers:

    1/2 green bell pepper, chopped

    1/2 onion, chopped

    1 lb. ground beef

    few shakes sweet chili sauce

    few shakes worcestershire

    S&P

    garlic salt

Mix together, form patties, grill on hamburger maker, top with slice of provolone cheese. Tasty!!

  2. You can stuff your hamburger with practically any kind of cheese.  My favorite is Blue Cheese or Gorgonzola cheese.  Put a few slices of bacon maybe or sauteed mushrooms.

  3. had 2 tsp brown sugar to 1 lb meat and mix together form and cook as usual

  4. yes

  5. I think most people put sliced onions, lettuce, tomato on their hamburgers... with mustard and/or ketchup (or BBQ sauce).  You could even mince some of the veggies and put them INTO the meat.  Mix the meat with 1 egg; some Italian seasoned bread crumbs; salt & pepper and herbs (or even just a package of dry onion soup mix) when you make the burgers.  Alot of people like a slice of cheese on burgers too (cheeseburger) .... sliced avocado and strips of bacon are good too

  6. Why don't you mix some ingredients in w/ the ground beef to spice things up. Here are some ideas:

    Stuffed Grilled Burgers

    Ingredients:

    2 tablespoons melted butter

    1 cup seasoned stuffing

    1 egg, beaten

1 can (4 oz) chopped mushrooms, drained

    1/4 cup beef broth

1/4 cup thinly sliced green onion

    1 teaspoon lemon juice

    3 pounds ground beef

    1 teaspoon salt

    Preparation:

In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, stuffing, egg, mushrooms, broth, green onion and lemon juice; set aside. In a separate bowl combine ground beef with salt; form into 16 patties (about 1/4 cup each). Top 8 patties with a scant 1/4 cup of stuffing mixture then cover with remaining patties. Pinch edges to seal stuffing in. Place on a greased grill or grill container and grill over medium coals for about 10 to 12 minutes per side.

Makes 6 to 8 large burgers.

  7. You could mix a little steak sauce or worcestershire sauce in the meat before cooking.  I like to brown them in a skillet and then add a little garlic salt and black pepper.  Onions, peppers, and mushrooms make great toppings.  And of course, cheddar or mozzarella cheese.  Toasting the bun or bread also makes them special.
