  1. denorex shampoo, and a flea comb, to comb through hair to get the lice out.  Someone to pick out every last nit out.  The comb will NOT remover the eggs

  3. Up the gills.  Oh my, you are getting some interesting answers.  To be expected when you ask for home remedies.

I applaud you for likely not wanting to use the harsh chemicals that are in drugstore lice shampoos as they can be quite dangerous but that shoudl not leave you with the only solution being to rub tomorrow's breakfast onto your head either!

Thre are some very good chemcial free solutions out there and there are some good nit combs that WILL remove all of the eggs.  The cheap ones that you get with the shampoo or in the drugstore generally do not get them all though.

The one that we prefer and have had good luck with is called NitFree and they have an amazing comb and mousse that dissolves the glue that is holding the nits onto the hair.

    Good luck.

  4. put olive oil in you hair. it takes forever to get out but it suffocates the lice. after you do wash it out you need a lice comb to comb out the dead lice and nits. you can also use mayo...but if you want to sleep with mayo in your hair put on a shower cap or something. remember to wash all pillowcases and anything that comes in contact with your hair.(after about 48 hrs without contact with the head the lice die.)

  5. I agree with most of the answer  you should try OLIVE OIL with VINEGAR  by far that's the best home remedy for lies my grandmother  use too used  for us when we had lice great results you better believe it is going to work.... Good luck and let us know  what happen

  6. Rinse hair in cheap red wine.

To prevent the recurrence, see a homeopath for "constitutional" strengthening. Lice are not infrequently related to emotional suppression (think, parasites), especially with kids. If treated with conventional meds, inevitably lice go away, only for pinworms to appear.

In N. America, http://www.homeopathicdirectory.com. Worldwide, homeopaths are otherwise pretty available.

  7. Stick you entire head in a pot of hydrocloric acid for an hour.

  8. mayo or vinegar. coat the hair and then put it up in a shower cap. leave over night. wash in the morning and then comb it with a nit comb. might need to re-wash to get the smell out.

  9. i heard ranch works

  10. butter/margarine or mayonayse. sounds weird, but it worked for me!! and you can also use nix. that works very well. also, get a lice comb, and pick them out.

  11. Coconut oil! By far, done the mayonnaise and the vinegar. The idea with the mayonnaise is that it will smother the lice, and vinegar will cause osmosis, so the eggs will die.

Mayonnaise is not sticky enough to smother the lice. The same idea is more successfully employed in some lice shampoos with silicone.

Vinegar doesn't stay concentrated enough on your scalp to cause osmosis (although it may loosen the bonds that nits have with hair) unless you are willing to duck your entire head into a tub of vinegar and keep it there for 30 mins (by which time the skin on your head would probably be so irritated that you'd prefer the lice).

Coconut oil has been used for centuries in India etc to get rid of lice. It doesn't irritate your scalp -- and gives you a deep conditioning while you keep it on your head (plastic bag couple of hours or overnight). There are different aromatic oils that you can add into the coconut oil too if you want to.

The key to everything is repetition! Keep your combs in vinegar as vinegar will destroy nits, and after using the coconut oil, keep combing the nits out. Do it for longer than you think you need to, as even one nit can restart the circus.

Now I just give the kids a once weekly preventative coconut oil treatment before their bath. Works well.

  12. I've always heard you can condition the hair and kill lice with mayonnaise

  13. Combine crumbled up LIFE cereal, mashed potatoes, and some sort of citrus fruit such as lemon or orange, and rub it in like shampoo. It really works!

  14. Shave you head and wash everyday! Wear a hat until hair grows back!

  15. Olive oil.Oh and the best thing EVER for removing lice is tomato sause.Put it n your hait and it all comes out.No lies!!

    Hope i helped.
