The best horses???

Im lookin for a new horse, and im gonna do barrel racing,

i was wondering if there is a certain breed that is good for barrel racing or if u could use any breed??

Quarter horses are definitely the best breed for it as their generally short coupled sprinters that are robust with the agility and temperament that you wouldn't generally find in performance horses such as thoroughbreds

quarter horses and arab's.  you want something compact and speedy.  you of course can use any breed, but the lankier the horse, the harder time it's going to have cutting barrels.

Quarter horses are very good because they're fast, and compact. American paint horses are also a good choice.

I would say most of your top racers are quarter horses...however there are a lot that are appendix quarter horse which means they also have some thoroughbred in them. I would definitely go with at the least a quarter horse cross if not pure quarter horse. Also, you don't want one that is too huge.
