Question:

The best place to catch stripers in MASS

My dad just bought a 20 Defiant Maritime skiff. weve taken it out a few times but no luck on the stripers. Does anyone know where the stripers are right now. Were actually havin a hard time catchin anything. Any suggestions.?

  1. we go just outside the bottom of the canal,,next to the maritime school or sumthing wit a huge boat at the south mouth of the canal,,,, try there with cutbait and throw a seaworm rig out the front just to hook sum nicesized fluke while you wait on da stripers!  also try umbrellarigs trolling the rocky areas you can see to the right if your facing the canal,,, had sum great luck with that and bouncing big red&black hair-jigs,,, good luck!!


  2. also check your bait/lures and tackle - you get one - it will be like a runaway train!!!

  3. I have a  buddy that lives on the upper east coast and is an avid striper fisherman. He tells me that the striper run is usually as the weather starts to cool off for the year. They won't be hard to spot once you get out there. Just look for the baitfish splashing, lots of big fish thrashing, and  a gaggle of seagulls adding to the frenzy

  4. east end of the canal is a good place  marshfield green harbor.
